Commissioned by Judas Priest for their latest album of the same name. This project released in June 2008 is a double album with a concept based around the life of the 16th Century seer and visionary: Nostradamus. The illustration shown here is the cover design and is just one of many done for the album. It will be released in 3 different formats, including a 300mm square box set with 48 page hardback book, vinyl, CDs and poster.
The whole look of the design was to reflect the medieval look of an ancient tome. The illustration here shows my version of Nostradamus contemplating the stars and planetary systems, all the while seeing into the future of mankind with his all too accurate predictions of our fate.
It's gorgeous, except for maybe the right eye (the viewer's left) which is a bit off... but apart from that, it's completely jaw-dropping. Now let's hope Priest can make an album that does this cover art justice
